How it all started

Little Wild Terrariums began during a quiet chapter of my life. Since 2022 I have been unwell and mostly housebound — navigating the slow rhythm of recovery through stillness and solitude. Relocating from the tropical north to Castlemaine, to be close to my family as I recover, I discovered that the humid tropical plants I love need a lot more care (and moisture) than I could give with my limited capacity.
So, I started creating small worlds in glass vessels, letting moss and ferns thrive in their contained spaces. I have always found comfort in the presence of plants. These living landscapes have become more than decoration — they are companions, reminders of life’s gentle persistence.
What began as a personal ritual slowly grew into a creative practice. Over time, Little Wild Terrariums has emerged as a way to share that sense of calm, wonder, and connection with others. Each piece is rooted in that origin — a celebration of nature’s quiet magic and the healing power of containment. I hope these little wild landscapes bring as much joy to your homes as they have to mine.
Taking orders and delivery
Today, I am still living a very limited life – and only creating a small number of terrariums. I aim to sell at markets from December onwards. If you can’t wait for this, check out our gallery page and get in touch to order. I am able to deliver terrariums within about 3km of central Castlemaine. If you live outside this area, you can still purchase – I can meet you in the Western Reserve carpark on Hargreaves street, where you can pick up your new little wild companion.
